Catch Us In Action!

Communities are important to the first graders of Honduras Elementary School! First grade students at Honduras Elementary were assigned a community project to make a store, a house, a restaurant, a bank, a school, etc. from a shoebox in order to create a community from their hometown, Houma. Students were able to understand all the people, places, and things that are needed and important to make a community.

Kindergarten students at Honduras Elementary in Miss Jessica Vicknair’s class created Treasure Boxes for their August Family Project. The project had to be completed at home and required the parents and child to decorate a box to place class-created mini books to promote reading at home. By the end of the year, they will have a library of books!
