Striving for Excellence in Academics, Behavior and Character

History

Lisa Park School opened its doors in 1967.  The classrooms numbered up to 22.The faculty of young teachers was led by Mr. Abel LeBlanc, principal.  Under his leadership the school became established as an asset to the Terrebonne Parish School Board.

The building was not air conditioned until the 1970s.    By this time, twelve more classrooms had been added along with a teachers' lounge and additional restrooms.  The gym was built next to the school in 1976.

The school housed grades 1 through 8.  In the 1980s, the eighth grade was moved to Houma Junior High School.  Kindergarten was moved to our school from the old Bayou Cane School.

Five principals have served Lisa Park School:  Mr. LeBlanc, Mr. Moe Chauvin, Mr. Willie Guidry, Ms. Pam Lemoine, and Mrs. Stacy Solet.

Today

Lisa Park School houses grades Pre-K through 7.  There are approximately 40 classrooms serving around 730 students.  Our principal is Mrs. Stacy Solet, Mr. Lee Crochet is the Assistant Principal, and Mrs. Mary Boudreaux is the Master Teacher.  Our school has a fulltime guidance counselor, Karen Guidry, and band director, Karen Dusenbery.
