Oakshire Elementary School serves approximately 750 children in grades PK-6.  It is among the few public schools in Louisiana to receive a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 9 out of 10.

Our school aims to be a secure and welcoming environment that fosters progress, achievement, aspiration and social skills needed to be productive citizens.  All members of our school community look for opportunities to further our aims through example and rigorous academic standards.

Oakshire is a Title 1 school with a school performance score which is consistently over 100.  The faculty and staff work diligently to prepare students for state standardized tests.  We offer a wide variety of programs from free after school LEAP and I-LEAP tutoring to GT enrichment for those who are academically gifted.  We identify and cater to the needs of all children.
