COE:
WHAT IS COOPERATIVE OFFICE
EDUCATION?
Cooperative Office Education is a vocational
business education program for high school
seniors with an interest in clerical work.
It is designed to affect the transition from
student to employee through a combination of
classroom instruction and on-the-job training in
the business world.
The student attends school in the morning and
receives on-the-job training in an office during
the afternoon.
Each student trainee receives three units of
credit for the successful completion of
classroom and job performance.
COE is taught by a qualified teacher-coordinator
who is aware of the needs of both the
businessperson and the student-learner.
A successful Cooperative Office Education
program is the result of cooperative
participation by the school, the employer, the
parent, and the student.
