THS yearbooks have gone by four names over the years: the Panorama (1908-1916), the Mirror (1938-1939), the Pirogue (1943), and the Trawler 1940-1941 & 1947-present.

THE PANORAMA

The first THS yearbook, the Panorama, was produced in 1908. Junior Alice Aitkens (left) was the editor. After graduating from THS in 1909, Alice attended Louisiana Normal School and returned to teach in the primary grades at THS. The Panorama was again produced in 1913, 1914, 1915, and 1916. For some reason (the war?), 1916 was the last Panorama.

THE MIRROR

Though the school newspaper began in 1923 (the
Mirror), there was no yearbook at that time. Finally, in 1938, the Mirror staff took on the task of putting together an "annual" (which they called The Terrebonne Mirror). The following year a separate yearbook staff was formed. The Mirror was produced for one more year before changing its name to the Trawler, a name suggested by Ernest Bonvillain.

THE TRAWLER

The fist issue titled the Trawler was for the 1939-1940 school year. During World War II, shortage caused a break in the production of the
Trawler. The 1942 Trawler was a smaller paperback version of the yearbook.

THE PIROGUE

In 1943, an even smaller paperback yearbook, the
Pirogue, was produced. It was only produced that one year.  There were no yearbooks for the next three years.

In 1947, production of the Trawler resumed and has been produced every year since then.

We "may" have a few back issues available at school, but we usually pre-order so there aren't a lot of extras. Copies are also deposited at the main parish library.
